Scheduling Your Redemption

  • How do I redeem my vehicle or property?

    • Vehicle Redemption: Contact your lender and request a "Vehicle Release" to be issued directly to Tri-State Recovery.

    • Property Redemption: No release is required for property redemption. Please Note: Personal property is only stored for 60 days.

  • How do I schedule an appointment? 

    • Once you have fully reviewed the FAQs, you will be able to click the button below to schedule your appointment.

    • Tri-State Recovery will review your file and confirm your appointment within 3 business hours (Monday-Friday).  If an appointment is made during not working hours, you will receive your initial confirmation the following business day.

  • What contact information should I provide?

    • Please include your cell phone number or email address. Tri-State Recovery will use this information to contact you regarding fees, appointment confirmation, and the redemption location.

  • What if I do not know my VIN (Vehicle Identification Number)?

    • If you do not know the last 6 digits of your Vehicle Identification Number or VIN, please contact your bank or lien holder. You may also check your insurance ID card and look for the VIN there as well.

Preparing for Your Appointment

  • When will I receive confirmation of my appointment?

    • You will receive your first confirmation when you schedule your appointment.  Please note that this is only a preliminary confirmation that your appointment has been made.  You will receive your final confirmation the evening before your scheduled appointment.  This allows your lender time to get us the necessary paperwork for review and approval.  If your lender has not sent over their release paperwork, you will not receive your finalized confirmation the night before your appointment and will need to contact your lender to see what elese is needed.

  • When will I receive the location of the lot where my vehicle is being stored?

    • Please note that we will only release the address of the lot where your vehicle is being stored with your final confirmation sent the night before your approved appointment.

  • What forms of payment do you accept?

    • We only accept cash.

  • Do I need to bring exact change? 

    • Yes, please bring the exact amount owed for any fees. Due to security protocols, Tri-State Recovery cannot provide change.

  • What identification do I need to bring?

    • Vehicle Redemption: Bring a valid driver's license (not expired). If you only have a government-issued photo ID, you must bring a licensed driver with a valid driver's license.

    • Property Redemption: A government-issued photo ID is sufficient.

  • Should I bring my keys?

    • Yes, if you're picking up property, bring your keys to avoid any additional fees from your lender.

  • Should I bring anything else?

    • Yes, if you are removing your personal property, it is a good idea to bring bags or totes to carry your property.

  • What time should I arrive for my appointment?

    • Please arrive 15 minutes early for your appointment to expedite the redemption process.

  • What if I am late for my appointment?

    • Due to the heavy volume, we can only allow a 15-minute grace period for each appointment.  If you know you are going to be more than 15 minutes late to your appointment, you will need to reschedule.

Additional Information

  • Can you quote the redemption cost beforehand? 

    • The cost cannot be quoted until Tri-State Recovery receives the "Vehicle Release" document (VRR) from your lender and all fees are paid in full.

  • Other important information:

    • The lender must send the Vehicle Release directly to Tri-State Recovery via email.

    • We work by appointment only and walk-ins are not accepted.

    • Same-day appointments are unavailable.

    • Only the registered owner or an authorized third party listed on the VRR can redeem the vehicle.

    • A valid, non-expired driver's license is required for vehicle redemption.

    • Due to limited space, please refrain from bringing children and limit the number of visitors accompanying you.

    • Please Note: All appointment times are based on the time zone of the lot location. The timezone of each lot is as follows:

      • Birmingham- Central Timezone

      • Mobile- Central Timezone

      • Montgomery- Central Timezone

      • Phenix City, AL/Columbus, GA- Eastern Timezone
